Dear Psc Group

I had my liver transplant back in 2005 at Mount Sani hospital. My

doctors were great Schiano and his staff. Previously i

developed UC as a young age about 14 years old, i am now 29 years

old. The situation is i have a ptc tube in my side because my bile

duct has a stone in it they can't remove right now, on top of that my

psc came back and is destroying my bile duct. I noticed alot of

people here had 2 transplants, do psc patients usually get 2 liver

transplants due to psc. Or does the 2 transplant work for good for

the psc patient.

Also my other question is about disability and social security. What

is the best careers to go into if your disabled from this disease and

can't get around? Is it better to let social security help you or do

you find a job on your own? I was fortunate enough to get a

Bachelor's degree in criminology but i want to switch fields because

it seems like i will be going through the same thing again with a

second transplant. It's unfortunate that they have a good liver but

the bile duct is the problem and they can't seem to find a way to fix

it. Right now i am still disabled and discouraged at the prospect for

my future. I see this issue from the prespective of a young person, i

know there is parents mainly on the board here. But if you have

teenager and young adults i hope they don't turn out like me because

i was optimistic before now i feel just hopeless about the future.
