WEll I have had several trigger point injections and they were a life saver for

me. Before I had my vestibulectomy my doctor injected me every 4 weeks I guess.

The very first one I had helped so much. By the time I had my 4th injection I

was having virtually pain free sex. Of course they hurt but the results were

amazing for me that is. Just go in with an open mind. Even though you have

never had an injection you will be fine. My doctor explained everything he was

doing to me before he did it. Hopefully you will have good results with them.

I have but not "down there". I don't know if telling you my experiences with it would help or not. I've had them done in my abdomen and back.

They hurt for a second (I'm a chicken so you may not even think so) but after that they do seem to help.

Before I would have injections vaginally for triggerpoints, I would

find a pelvic floor PT to do some internal work to better locate

where your tenderness is. You can contact the NVA to see if there is

a Pt in your area and if not, it would be worth the trip to go to

someone really good for an evaluation first. I don't feel that GYNs

really have the tactile experience to feel these kind of muscle

irregualarites like a good PT.

I complained for many years of some of the tenderness being along my

episiotomy scar. 3 Gyns checked me and said the scar was fine. I

went to a pelvic floor PT and she said I definitely has scar tissue

which she worked on for a couple of weeks and reduced my pain about

10-15%. PTs are experts in muscles, GYNs are not.
