The following is a message from the man who almost singlehandedly started up Parkland Buddy Soccer (which has since led to several other Buddy sports in Parkland), and a great friend to our children with autism and other disabilities. His message concerns another great friend to our community, Bob Mayersohn.

Hello Friends,

Please forgive the length of this e mail, but I would urge you to read it.

I would like to remind you that my good friend, Mayersohn, is running for the Broward County School Board, District Four. It has been my great privilege and honor to have known Bob and his amazing son Garrett for the past eight years, having first met them when I started Soccer Buddies in 2002. Since that time Bob has been an invaluable asset to our program and his participation and leadership has enabled us to greatly expand our program offerings and the number of players and student volunteers that we are now able to accommodate.

If Bob did nothing more than run his own business and raise his son Garrett, who is afflicted with cerebral palsy, he would be an extremely busy man. However, and in addition to those responsibilities, Bob is deeply committed to improving the educational system and institutions here in Broward County. Bob has served on more than twenty Broward County School organizations. He is currently the Chair of the Exceptional Student Education Advisory Council and is a member of the Broward County Children's Services Council.

Like many of us, Bob knows that our educational system in Broward is capable of serving its students in a far better manner than it has done in the past. Bob possesses the vision, leadership and common sense ability to address and solve the repetitive problems that we read about in the newspapers and watch on the TV news. Bob is not guided by greed nor is he beholden to any special interest. He is one of the most honorable and honest human beings that I know and he will always conduct himself in a manner that will make us proud and most importantly will best serve the educational needs of our children.

Change in our political institutions occurs one election at a time. We can start to change the Broward County School system by supporting and electing Bob Mayersohn. Please spread the word to all those in District Four (Parkland, Coral Springs, Tamarac and Margate), go to the polls for the primary on Tuesday August 24 and vote for Bob Mayersohn.
