Well I like the sound of cheaper and less crowded, too! ;-) I told maybe we should try to do a vacation one year on Christmas.Yes, the gulf side is on the West. The water on that side is beautiful. It's different from the Atlantic/East side. On the East side, it's always been more murky...but on the gulf coast, it was green/clear and oh so pretty. I know from Clearwater down to Siesta Key the beaches are really nice, but I'd say there are many more. 's grandparents used to live half of the year in FL, until his granny passed a few years ago. Yes, it is cheaper to fly on Christmas Day. That is why we do it, plus the airports are not crowded. It really seems like everyone who celebrates Christmas is already where they want to be. Which make it good for us.

I have never been to the gulf side. Is that the West Coast? We usually go to West Palm Beach since my father in law lives there and we want to see him.
