Guest guest
Hi Barb, I bought a SheDaisy CD and found a song that reminds me of you and your slogan. It is called What Ever it Takes. The chorus goes: Whatever it takes, I'm gonna try Whatever it takes, day or night I'll climb up that mountain I'll touch the sky Everything all in one day Whatever it takes I drive around with this playing on in my car on repeat because I like the message. The rest of the song isn't as good as the chorus Amazon has a sample http://www.amazon.com/Fortunetellers-Melody-SHeDAISY/dp/B000EHQ7P6/ref=pd_bbs_1?\ ie=UTF8 & s=music & qid=1196478132 & sr=1-1 Reguarding the blood tests. The granulocyte count is lower than average but perhaps not reason to do anything different. If the GR# drops below 0.5K then the risk of infection becomes a lot higher. 1.1K is below average but not in a critical range. His transplant team could tell you if this were a concern. The lyphocyte count is normal but the percentage is skewed because there are fewer granulocytes and probably doesn't mean anything The RDW is a measure of the variability in size of the RBCs. It would be expected in Ken's situation where there would be big new RBC fresh from the bone marrow. It probably doesn't mean anything. The low Hb and HCT is important. With his blood thinned he is probably loosing blood faster than his bone marrow is making it. You should certianly talk to the transplant team about his iron levels and stomach protection and protimes --but I'll bet you are already on top of this. Wishing you and Ken the best.
