Guest guest
My husband has been fighting a round with Cholangitis for the last two weeks. He has been having fevers up to 102.3. Last night however he woke me up with shivering that was so sever that it was rattling the whole bed and his teeth were chattering uncontrolably.I took his temperature and it was only 99.3. It took him about an hour or more before it quit. He is on medication for the fever and pain. Has anyone ever experienced this? Guest guest
Absolutely - I was in the ER by then, though. No one would sit near me. Something to do with a guy in a down coat, mittens and stocking cap in a heated room shaking like a leaf! I was admitted and treated (IV antibiotics, morphine, midnight ambulance ride to Mayo, ERCP, etc.). I never had a temperature over 100 deg F, but I was septic by then. My hepatologist told me to go immediately to the ER if it happened again (and it did, once). I think Jerry needs to be seen ASAP. Take care, Arne ---- titustwo2000 wrote: ============= My husband has been fighting a round with Cholangitis for the last two weeks. He has been having fevers up to 102.3. Guest guest
I agree with Arne -- I think that the ER is needed when this happens(call your husband's doctor first -- he or she can call the ER to say you're coming in and that should get him attention sooner). My doctor used to call ahead and I never even saw the waiting room -- they met me at the door with the wristband and a wheelchair!
