Guest guest
This is really sad and pathetic. First of all the Chicago Tribune is the WORST paper out there notorious for gunning down anything "alternative" and unconventional. So that needs to be taken into consideration. Secondly, these doctors are caught up in a divorce situation where one party deliberately opposes something the other party desperately wants - the husband and wife war of the roses. Unfortunately there is a child with autism in the middle and mainstream media is going to capitalize on this and support the most conservative side because the media is always looking for the loophole to deliberately bash, twist and destroy anything unconventional. It's called "Yellow Dog Journalism". In reality we all know that Dr. Usman and Dr. Rossignol are following the DAN protocol which is bound by medical guidelines. If these doctors wait for regular mainstream to produce all the necessary studies and research needed before treating their autism patients, then two to three generations of children with autism would go untreated. As most of us know, ABA is certainly a choice but it does not address immune deregulation, gut/brain connection, abnormal biochemistry, methylation issues, MTHFR gene, Glutathione and heavy metal detoxification, RNA,DNA and so on. In fact most of western medicine DOES NOT address any of this and therefore these children fall through the cracks. This is precisely why the late Dr. Bernard Rimland reached out to his brightest colleagues to initiate a protocol to address these children's medical issues that were not being addressed by western medicine because this disorder was considered to be mental health. In 1991 Supreme Court of the United States rules that autism is no longer a mental health issue, but biological and to be covered by insurance companies (anyone wanting the documentation for insurance purposes just email me Badillo9@...) As Dr.Usman told the Chicago Tribune in an email, "We base our treatment protocols on the lab results, parent reports and physical examination of our patients — nothing out of the ordinary in the practice of medicine."This is not a witch hunt and WE AS PARENTS ARE NOT VICTIMS OF DESPERATION FALLING PRAY TO THESE WAYWORD DOCTORS. Yes, some treatments may not work for our child and most of us do not live with the illusion that there is the magic bullet treatment. We all know it's a journey and a process that entails setbacks and gains. We are required to work on every front - educational, behavioral, biomedical, sensory, and neurological. No stone is unturned and whatever we are doing is collectively working to help our children. Mainstream media and Yellow Dog Journalism is taking down our doctors - our brightest and most amazing dedicated doctors - Wakefield, Mark Geier, Anju Usman, Dan Rossignol....so when will this stop? In a few weeks from now the United Nations will vote on whether to allow mercury to remain as a preservative in vaccines, flu shots, and various prescription medications used in the Third World Countries. In the wake of this monumental decision, we as parents will hopefully be able to bombard our legislators in every state where mercury is still allowed in vaccines and medication to demand that this preservative be banned across the board based on this decision by the UN. Justice will prevail for our children; our most dedicated doctors need to be vindicated, licenses need to be reinstated and we as parents need to know we have the freedom without persecution of yellow dog journalism to choose our doctors and treatments for our children! Guest guest
I agree 99% with you , however, I do think this is a witch hunt. I know Dr. Usman and Dr. Rossignal is our DAN Dr., both wonderful practicioners with years of success to back up their medical data. I think people are choosing to look in the wrong places to find fraud and medical abuse. Re: Check out Autism Doctor Faces Investigation Over Controvers... This is really sad and pathetic. Guest guest
What I meant by the witch hunt is the media is looking at these doctors as a witch hunt taking advantage of parents who are desperate to find answers for their kids - as if these doctors are giving our kids some sort of voodoo medicine. We as parents know these doctors in question are competent, dedicated and relentless looking for answers; trying to treat causes with diet, therapies, supplements, minerals, herbs etc. rather than treat symptoms with drugs. They choose options which are best for the child especially when they are little toddlers. If they have to use medication it is with a specific purpose for the medical issue at hand; not to mitigate aggressive and unwanted behaviors without looking for underlying causes to the problem whatever they maybe. But from our perspective this is a witch hunt - you are right! By Big Pharm, the media, NIH,CDC, IOM, Uncle Sam, and the Medical Establishment. And what kind of answers do you think they have for our kids???? I agree 99% with you , however, I do think this is a witch hunt. I know Dr. Usman and Dr. Rossignal is our DAN Dr., both wonderful practicioners with years of success to back up their medical data.
