Guest guest
Hello everyone, hope all is well. I wanted to know if someone has visited the very merry xmas party in orlando with their autistic child. If you have, any advice? We are planning on staying in the cabins in Ft Wilderness. It seems like a nice place. Hope to hear from you soon...
Guest guest
It's very crowded. Lots of long lines. If your child doesn't mind that then they will have an awesome time! Guest guest
We are planning to attend the event during the week. Is it better? Re: Disney It's very crowded. Lots of long lines. Guest guest
We stayed at Disney's Wilderness Lodge 2yrs ago and loved it! Great Atmosphere. As for the time of year, definitely gets crowded. Go to guest services at any of the Disney parks and ask for a Guest Assistance Card, that should help with not having to wait too long on lines. The pass will be good for all the parks. Have a GREAT time!!!!! It's very crowded. Lots of long lines. If your child doesn't mind that then they will have an awesome time! Please excuse any typos. Guest guest
You can request a special needs pass at the guest services office at the front of the park. We have done this many times, they give us a pass that will allow my son and all of our guests to go to the front of every line. It's good for rides, picture opportunities, just about everything. Without this pass Disney would not be any fun bc my son has a very hard time waiting on line. This pass has allowed our family to enjoy our vacation better than anywhere else, and with all the struggles we encounter throughout the year I feel he deserves the chance to jump at the front of the line at his favorite place in the world. Guest guest
I used to work for Disney. Make sure to get a " get assistance " card at any guest services booth. That way you can stand on the short lines for rides with your child. Many, many children and adults with autism go to Disney as Disney has many accommodations that no one else does. Many gluten free foods, etc. Have a great trip and do not worry. You all will have a great trip. Sandy Sent from my iPad

Guest guest
Yes during the week will helps with the crowds and the guest assistance pass is a must. There are some youtube videos of the very merry party and wilderness lodge. Take some time to show them to your child ( a few times) to help him prepare for what he is going to experience and make sure he knows that he can tale a break if he needs to AND what his break choices are. Hope this helps. Guest guest
When I called ahead of time they told me to bring his diagnosis from the doctor just in case. But when we were there they didn't even ask for it. My son is visibly autistic so they didn't need documentation. You will have a fantastic time! We book all our family vacations with Disney now bc we have found them to be the most accommodating.Sent from my iPhone Great idea, do I need to show any documentation for the pass? Guest guest
The best place to see fire works is Fort Wilderness. There are hammocks on the beach and you can lay in them, sit on the beach, or play tether ball while the fireworks from any of the parks go off and see them, but not deal with the loud noises. Also you can take a ferry to the Magic Kingdom which is much easier than the bus. One downfall, to get around Fort Wilderness you will ride their bus. Don't miss the campfire. Awesome, I figured he could ride the ponies, roast marshamellows..... I cant wait. Re: Disney We stayed at Disney's Wilderness Lodge 2yrs ago and loved it! Great Atmosphere. Guest guest
We are actually driving there so we will have transportation. Is the campfire daily? Guest guest
The campfire is daily, but they do not allow people to drive their car around the resort. You may be able to get an accommodation and be allowed to drive, but the resort is designed to leave your car at the cabin and ride the buses or rent a golf cart.
