Guest guest
Does anyone have pain for an hour or so after a bowel movement? I hate to be so graphic, but while I am pushing I have a bulge of tissue that decends from my vagina. I'll hurt in that area for at least an hour after going. I have been diagnosed with Vulvodynia, but I wonder if prolapse is part of my problem too. I've given birth vaginally two times, been on bed rest with both pregnancies b/c of preterm labor, and the baby's heads could both be seen both times from 27 weeks on until I delivered. I wonder if the low lying babies caused some prolapse. I have another appointment with a specialist Feb. 9th. Just wonder what your opinions are. Thank you! Guest guest
It sounds to me like you have a prolapse or maybe more than one. It could be your bladder, your uterus, your rectum or all of them as they tend to push each other. I elected to have a complete hysterectomy and consider myself lucky that the gynocologist did it. The hysterectomy caused the problems with my prolapsed bladder and rectum to go away. You might be offered a "pessary" to put up there to keep things in place but they can cause all sorts of problems and I didn't want to have to go to the doc any more than I had to. Guest guest
I have had this problem since I gave birth in September - same thing, a bulge down from the vagina. My PT says it will correct itself if I do my kegels...the bowel movements are getting less painful with time. Have you considered pelvic floor PT? It's been a lifesaver for me! Melinda C. Guest guest
Melinda, are you doing kegels now? If so, how is that going? I remember Rhonda telling me that it's not like you will never want to do Kegels again, but you have to make sure your pelvic floor is okay first! It's such a balancing act with all this pelvic floor business! You don't want your pelvic floor to be too tight, but too loose isn't good either! *sigh*Take Care,ChelleI have had this problem since I gave birth in September - same thing,a bulge down from the vagina. Guest guest
Chelle, I am doing limited kegels, about 30/day (10 sitting, 10 standing, 10 lying down). My PT advised me to never do them before I had the baby but now it's the only way to correct that little prolapse I have, as the birth did weaken my pelvic floor. I have to do them carefully and work really hard to let go fully every time. Melinda
Guest guest
Well try your best to do them and keep your pelvic floor balanced! I know how hard it is to release like you should. I don't try any kegels, but I believe my pelvic floor is beyond them now. You don't want more serious prolapse. I'll probably be calling the gyn to make an appt. soon to schedule hysterectomy. I still hate the thoughts of it, I've been praying for acceptance. I've been putting it off, because I hate even thinking of it. I wonder, though, if my big ole heavy uterus isn't there anymore if it will help me! I'm praying that will be the case! ;-) Take Care,Chelle
Guest guest
Hi, it does sound like it could be prolapse. Call the doc's office and ask to be put on a cancellation list? I did that and was able to get in two weeks earlier with a specialist last month. I have uterine prolapse, and I also have a cystocele.Take Care,Chelle Does anyone have pain for an hour or so after a bowel movement? Guest guest
Good luck with your decision, Chelle. Everyone I know about who has had a hysterectomy has not regretted it and for most of them it has solved most of their problems. I hope and pray that will be the case with you. It sounds to me as though your utterus is more trouble than it is worth.
