Guest guest
I just got a call from Vanderbilt saying jason has to come in Friday for a CT angiogram of the liver to look at the vessels and bile ducts. First of all, has anyone had this done, and second what should I be worried about. Right now I'm worried about everything. If there is blockages, what will they do? Will this mean another transplant? What caused the blockages if there are in fact blockages. We were at the doctor yesterday, and he didn't even begin to prepare me for this. He said that the medication changes should help things get better. I was in shock when the nurse called to tell me this news. Thanks for your support. wife of UC & PSC 2000 J pouch 2004 Tx 11-18-
Guest guest
I so hate it when THEY call you. I know your stomach is at the base of your throat, right now, but take a deep breath. I think I might be for calling that nurse back and demanding to speak to the dr. What prompted them to order the CT? Are the liver enzymes so off, they think there might be a blockage? Are his cancer markers high, heaven forbid? My prayers are with you and yours. , wife of (psc 1994, CCa 2007)
Guest guest
Thank you . The liver numbers have been off for a few weeks now. He had a biopsy done two weeks ago, and the doctor didn't think it was rejection. So, I guess this is the next step. I don't know. I'm still a little upset because I talked to the doctor in person yesterday. What prompted this change and the sudden need for the CT, I don't know. As far as I know, from looking at his labs online, they didn't even check his cancer markers. The alk phos and bili are the two numbers that have been elevated, but I thought we were just going to try Imuran instead of CellCept and see how that went. He has been on Imuran for a little over a week now. Is that enough time to see a change? Also, I looked back over his labs, and his alk phos has been a problem for the past year, so maybe the doctor is just wanting to make sure there isn't anything wrong with the vessels or ducts. I just don't know... wife of > > I so hate it when THEY call you. > > I know your stomach is at the base of your throat, right now, but take a deep breath. > > I think I might be for calling that nurse back and demanding to speak to the dr.
