Guest guest
, Ken had an angiogram 2 weeks ago. They numb the site (in groin), make a tiny cut (smaller than you can imagine) then pass a line through the artery and insert a dye. When the dye goes in, they take pictures to see exactly where the dye goes. If a vein or artery is blocked they won’t see the dye, if it’s open they will. Once they are done with the pictures, they will remove the line and apply pressure to the spot. In Ken’s case he said they actually had a C- clamp connected to the bed and just turned it until enough pressure was applied. (When I had one done they used a sandbag.) It doesn’t hurt by the way. He’ll have to stay for a while after to make sure it doesn’t bleed, then he can go home. He’ll be sore for the next couple of days (but nothing like he has already been through). That’s it. If a vein has a clot, they’ll can either put him on a blood thinner or open the clot. Please don’t get ahead of yourself, wait and see what the test reveals. If I were you (and I was) I was very happy they wanted to do the test. Remember knowledge is power and without the knowledge they can cull from this test, they would be left guessing – and you don’t want that. Sounds to me like is in good hands and has a great caretaker watching over him. Relax, it’s better for you and . If I can help in any way, just let me know. Guest guest
Barb thank you. I knew you would know what to tell me. I will do my best not to " get ahead of myself " and just wait and see what they find out. Although, that is very difficult for me. I always start thinking of all the what ifs, and whatevers. You're right, he does have an excellent doctor and I am thankful they want to find out what is going on. Thanks again for the explanation and advice. wife of
