This training includes understanding the nature of your child’s disability, school district policies and procedures, basic principles of IDEA, and what is considered to be best for children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). You will receive the knowledge and skills needed to successfully advocate for your child's education. This is a series designed specifically with education in mind and is for parents, guardians or future advocates. Topics to be covered include: *ing positive interaction between schools and families *Improving communication skills *Learn about evaluation, classification, and Least Restrictive Environment*Components of Successful Inclusion *Functional Behavior Assessments, Behavior Intervention Plans *Developing effective IEP or 504 plans *Self advocacy, transitioning to adulthood.
