Guest guest
Dear Moms~~ First let me extend gracious thanks to all of you who sent us your thoughts and prayers in memory of my little ones Hannah and Christian in honor of their 6th anniversary of the birth into Gods house. I had some pretty dark moments last night, atop everything else that's going on here, but I knew you were all thinking of us. I love you all so much! MMMWWWAAA (blowing a big smooch to ya). I feel a bit better today, just coming out of the funk. I know some of you have read my posts about my dh and I pursuing IVF again , very soon as my eggs are a gettin crusty! Well a friend emailed me about helping us to set up fundraisers to raise part or all of the money as she has done this in the past. MAN did I have a major brain storm. Actually I have been contemplating this for a few weeks, since I saw the Dr. I see no reason why there can't be a Charitable Organization that helps families pay for IVF, GIFT or ZIFT. Yes of course now there are companies who help couples or moms pay by financing the treatment, but what about those who don't qualify for the loans either due to bad or no credit. Should you be told you can't try to have a child because you have had some difficulties in the past. I think the basis would be charitable donations to the couples with encouragement (if possible) for them to donate in the future to help others (not harrassing them of course). I have thought about doing loans and donations but loans probably pose a bigger hurdle to achieve because I am sure there are regulations and everything else. So my focus would be on helping to raise money to donate not loan. It may be big it may be small. I would love to have your input and any advice you can offer. I mean, what do you guys think about this??? There are charitable donations for people to adopt pot bellied pigs for pete's sake, why not help a desperate couple become a three person family. Please email me privately or in the group with your thoughts. I really hope it is something I can pursue. If your even interested in helping out that would be great. Maybe we can send out a survey to the public to see what a response would be. ===== Mommy to 6 angels Sammi-Gayle, Hannah Faye,Christian McKenna, Adam and Carly Mee and my angel on Earth http://geocities.com/manthasmom2000 http://angelcities.com/members/manthasmom __________________________________________________

Guest guest
Tracey, It's an honorable idea, but I honestly don't think many people would donate. Unless they've been through it, I think most people would feel that someone who is infertile should adopt. Just my opinion. I think a more productive way to approach this is to join in the effort to get insurance companies to cover infertility treatment, including ivf!! People who are infertile have actual, physical problems that prevent the body from functioning normally! It astounds me that this is not covered. I think Resolve has done a lot and some states now mandate some infertility coverage but obviously there is a long way to go.
