A verbal behavior therapist is recommended to get a kid talking/communicating. An SLP would be appropriate for speech issues. Sent from my iPhone

Hi I'm not a speech therapist, I'm an ABA therapist but I just wanted to comment because I worked with a non verbal 5 year old boy who's main target behavior was getting him to speak, we used picture cards and reinforced every time we got sounds and it did wonders in his case of course every child has its different and what works with one not necessarily works with all! We are looking for a speech therapist who will come to our home in Delray Beach to work with our 8 year old ASD son who has a lot of word approximations and some short word combinations . We are looking for at least 3-4 sessions every week , after school and weekends.

We saw good results during summer break when we had a therapist from abroad work with him intensively . Or we would also be interested in a speech therapist who might like a full or part time job working with him every day afternoons / evenings / weekends .

Anyone interested or with any ideas ?
