Guest guest
HI,my son has only been on this diet for a few months. How do you handle Halloween? Do you guys skip it or collect a bunch of candy he can't eat and substitute it? What do you feed your kids in placement of regular candy? Guest guest
There's plenty of candy that's gfcf. The rest, give away or you eat it... ;-) Sent from my iPhone HI,my son has only been on this diet for a few months. How do you handle Halloween? Guest guest
Hi! If you don't think your child will get upset by substitutions, let him trick-or-treat, and go through the candy as you would anyway to make sure it is safe. Substitute w/ GFCF treats and toys that you provide. As long as your child has the fun of dressing up and getting treats, he probably won't care. When my son was younger, we would Trick-or-Treat at the homes of family and friends who knew about his diet. They always made it a point to give him a treat that fit into his diet, or they gave him something like stickers, a quarter, or a spider ring (or other toy). In addition to visiting friends & family, if Halloween fell during the week, the week-end before we invited a few of his friends over for a party and each parent was asked to bring a treat that was GFCF or a non-food item, to pass out to the kids. The kids all wore their costumes and all I did was supply drinks, snacks, a ghost pinata filled with candy and toys (all things my son could have), plastic pumpkins for the kids to put their treats in, and a game or two. My son never asked to do more and we always had a great time. Glenda > > HI,my son has only been on this diet for a few months. How do you handle Halloween?
