Guest guest
I just read your post and your right on everyone is off, it has to be the weather. I have never been this bad, and did not think of it until recently why I may think I have gotten worse but really haven't, just in a cylce because of this bitter cold, snow,or terrible wind. Last yr I spent out at my daughters in Ca. Nov- March and felt much better. I know the Fibro has taken over more parts of my body but it has never been so bad with no let up. but what I am wondering is you mention your breathing difficulty, and whether asthma or Fibro in upper back. I to have used my inhaler the last couple days, have had chest discomfort, and couple days ago thoug woke with severe severe pain in upper back area, and near back rib cage. I always had the low back pain, and my spine had been bothered, had at one time had to see a Pulmonary specialist, have a Cat Scan as breathing was really tough, inhalers did not work, and I just could not catch my breath. The test came back except for the condition I have had for yrs. I had a pulmonary embolism back in 87, and it caused scarring on the lung which was explained causes me to have asthma at times, I am not a FT asthma person would you say. But I wonder if you can tell me is this how your Fibro mid back episodes are. It gets scary to me when I can't breathe as I sometimes catch myself starting the panic attack thinking another PE, which believe me I lived that way for some few yrs after having and had to have lung scan each time I brought it up to the Dr. they say they have to do it just because, even though they feel it is not another. Thanks for any lightening you can put on this. Sharon ddean228 wrote: The weather in Georgia is rainy so.....I'm flaring a bit. I guess because I may have missed my morning dose of Lyrica I am noticing it more, but I'm more scared about taking an additional dose. So I'll use my breakthru meds when I get back from my pulmonologist. I cannot tell if the tightening in my chest is due to my asthma (likely) or the flare in the mid-back (probable aggravator). So for all of us who are flaring, do what you can to take it as easy as possible. I think we are all running around right now on high-stress mode so my solution is.....everyone eat some chocolate! And if you are diabetic, then make it sugar-free jello chocolate pudding....... (((Hugs))) Darlene
Guest guest
Sharon, It could be just a flare for you ***or*** you could be getting asthma on a full-time basis (I didn't have it as a kid, it came on in my 40s....lol....lucky me, huh?). I could understand the fear of another PE and all that stuff. I do believe that some of mine is combo because once I take a nebulizer breathing treatment, it eases up but not 100%. In fact, I get to go do it again.....I opted for a nap and feel a little better emotionally wise. Please consider getting it checked out for your own piece of mind and keep us posted!!! You are needed here too you know! (((Hugs))) Darlene The weather in Georgia is rainy so.....I'm flaring a bit. Guest guest
Darlene thanyou for your response as I had just started myself getting anxiety over this, as it is so uncomfortable to not be able to get or at least feels like enogh air! I am almost certain though it is another cycle thing that has been going on this last yr, this and other symptoms. Because I have been pretty much house, couch bed bound so long I think it tonight just set the anxiety in, because I use to be so hyper active and feared, but caught myself thinking no activity, blood clot, but I have learned over the years to take control of that anxiety because I don't ever want to experince a panic attack again, they I can't handle. Thankyou so much for your concern and kind words. I hope tonight gives you relief to feel better tomm.
