Guest guest
Kefir controls IBS? I never new, I love that but don't buy it much because of cost. I love yougart and eat it alot, does this help with control also? What about people that are lactose intolerant? My son has Chron's and can not eat dairy but wonder if this is usefull in control of this type. Though he is on Remicade now and it has reacted to the treatments he gets, yet he is so thin, and some foods still have him heading to the BR Thanks for sending that info though for IBS will have to make sure and always buy now, as I had not been bothered with IBS for several yrs but it is back. I don't know how my son has always been able to hold on until he gets to a BR, as I had several close calls and there is no holding. Dame de Faiel wrote: I drink this on a daily basis to stop diarrhea. It works real well, controls IBS. I used to buy it in the store. Got to be expensive buying it every week. I used to spend over $100 dollars on the Helios organic Kefir each month. I also have bought the Lifeway brand of Kefir which is cheaper. I couldn't stop drinking Kefir, and I couldn't go back to yogurt which was not controlling IBS. I thought it was really strange about the toilet hugging kind of diarrhea that hit me all the time. I got scared about going out of the house, since I never knew when this problem would strike. A friend of mine sent me the Kefir grains that I reuse. I went from 1 tablespoon of grains, to several cup fulls. I started out making one cup of Kefir, but I'm up to making 20 cups. Kefir has 10 active cultures compared to the one culture that Activia has. To know more about Kefir see Dom's Kefir site. http://users.chariot.net.au/%7Edna/Makekefir.html
