Taken my first Adderall

Hi Jeanne,

I'm sorry you're having those side effects to taking Adderall. I think if you

eat yogurt or eat something else (I just said yogurt because the Prednizone I

take leaves a bad taste in my mouth so I take it with yogurt.) that maybe the

taste will go away, Hope so anyway.

I've never taken it and still can't remember why you are - sorry but my memory

is shot. I know you switched from Provigil, so is it to keep you awake, because

that's why I take Provigil. I have Narcolepsy.

I hope the lightheadedness and dizziness go away. I think they will. It

seems to be a side effect to a lot of medications to me at first.

I surely do hope it gets better.

You're not stupid, . If you've not taken a med, you wouldn't know about

it, obviously. Adderall is a stimulant, often used to treat ADD or ADHD, but we

are trying it for increasing my energy level instead of the Provigil that I was

on. So far, I'm not liking it but it's only been a day.

I'm inpatient when taking new meds. I want the side effects gone immediately

and the benefits immediately as well. That's not too much to ask, is it? LOL!

Hey Jeanne, what is Adderall for? I'm not up on med's so half the time I

don't kno what is taken for what. lol. Sometimes I feel really stupid.

Thanks for you input, Krystal. I am not ADD of ADHD, but my doc and I are

striving to increase my energy level. Provigil was working OK at 200 mg. a day,

but it did not help to go up to 400 mg. a day. I'm trying to get to the place

where I have the energy to shower, do minor chores, and go out to the store if I

want to. So that is the goal. Losing my appetite would be a good thing as I am

morbidly obese. I am starting at 10 mg. a day and will increase to 20 mg. after

a week or if I need longer I will take longer before I increase.

My my son takes adderall Xr 5mg capsules and my husband takes adderall 10mg

tablets. What are you on? They usually start with 5mg and work their way up.

They both take it for ADHD. Is that why you are taking

it. I remember reading your previous post but do not remember what you were

taking it for lol. Adderall is a stimulant like crack for instance or Caffiene

and with people with ADHD it calms them down so they can focus better. It has a

tendancy of you loosing your appeitite but if you think it is helping please

ensure you eat no matter how you feel. People often lose weight from it. But it

helps most keep focused. I learned this from my childs doctor. Good Luck to you

Thanks Marti. Yes, it is for energy to replace the Provigil. Taste is not as

noticeable today. The light-headedness is still here today, and will soon go

lie down. I slept late this morning so have been on the computer for about 4

hours. Still have 143 unread messages. I'm so glad to see you posting in spite

of your chemo treatments. Take care.
