Guest guest
Dear Ron, This year, one out of every 100 children born in the United States will be diagnosed with autism. While modern day technologies allow diagnoses to be made as early as 18 months, there is much to learn about how early treatment for those children can be most effective. One thing is certain – a signature characteristic for all children with autism is difficulty communicating. The ability to break through communication barriers - to understand and be understood - is a challenge for these children. At Notre Dame, we believe breakthroughs in autism treatment are worth fighting for. The latest installment in the University’s “What Would You Fight For?†campaign aired on NBC during today’s broadcast of the Purdue game. It showcased the work of Notre Dame psychologist Diehl and his team of researchers, who are helping children with autism break through those barriers and communicate more effectively. If you missed the ad or would like to see it again, you can watch it on http://fightingfor.nd.edu. You can also learn more about autism and how to support this groundbreaking work at Notre Dame. Fighting for breakthroughs in the treatment of autism; it's one more battle Notre Dame’s faculty and students couldn't wage without your support. Thank you. For Notre Dame, F.
