Guest guest
Just a short update. We went to our first post transplant out-patient visit today. Barbara brought up her problems with keeping up on her pain. When they learned that Barbara was sent home on hydrochodone, they said that was a mistake - she should have been sent home on percocet. That medication was adjusted and her pain is now under control. The second issue of change - all restrictions regarding house plants and cut flowers have been lifted. She can now retrieve all those house plants that were moved into the recesses of the house and move them back to the normal living spaces. Her staples will be removed in one week. We did have problems with her medications. It seems that Barby's drug card does not cover the hyper-expensive anti-rejection drugs. When we followed up on the issue, we discovered that medicare picks up the first 80% of post transplant anti-rejection drugs and that her gap insuance covers the next 20%. Whew! We're glad to get that out of the way. We discovered today that the front loading ge profile washing machine that we purchased 3-1/2 years ago has a failed bearing, which is leaking oil onto the clothing. The cost of the repair exceeds the cost of the machine. We'll be shopping for a new machine later this week. This time we'll likely change to whirlpool.... If you live in the midwest, like us, hope you are not overly affected by the ice! Will update later, when there is more to say.
