Hey , Are you still using estrogen cream topically? It can definitely heal wounds. When my skin was in such bad shape that I was getting tiny tears - I began using Estrace....and they healed up. Dee has good info in the files about the healing properties of Estrogen. So...if you are not already, maybe you could try using the Estrogen topically every night for a few weeks. I used it every night for about two months at first. I would also consider calling the Dr's office and letting them know what happened and see if they have any suggestions. Hang in there and try to remain calm. One other thing...Once you begin to the see the area heal up and then try using dilators to gently stretch the skin again (or you could use some self PT techniques). Hugs, ChelleOn

Thanks Chelle for your suggestions. I've already been using estradiol compunded in emu oil for a little over a week. I too thought it would help with the healing properties since I'm already tender at the 6 o' clock area from VVS. Now, this darn biopsy has made everything ten times worse, I kick myself at times for letting my doctor do the biopsy. I know it was to be on the safe side but at the moment it doesn't feel like it. I already use dilators but have only used them once since having the biopsy done. Calling my Dr.'s Office won't do any good because my OBGYN and her nurse haven't been helpful since the get go, which really ticked me off. I guess I should call and tell the nurse what happened and demand some answers.

P.S. It doesn't help that I have a desk job, grrrr!

,Do you have a donut cushion you could use for awhile at work. It would take pressure off the area until you can get it to heal. As for the Estrogen cream - as you may already know - it will take awhile for it to actually help heal the area. It's a slow (ugh) process. Do you have any Lidocaine that you can use? Of course it might sting at first...but it could numb the area and help you with the pain. When you get home, use ice packs on the area. Just make sure you alternate when you use them. So many minutes, so many off. I would definitely call the Dr's office...and I would tell them that you need help! I wonder if Aloe Vera gel would help with aid healing, too. Hang in there... Chelle

I would call the doctor and tell him that the biopsy site is not healing and has

split open. He should be able to tell you what to do.

You need to protect the area until it heals. You say it is on the left side of

the perineium so when you sit, you should put your weight on the right side to

protect the area. Try not to cross your legs until it heals.

I do have a donut cushion at work, but the fact that I attempted to wear jeans to work was not the smartest idea. Yes, I do know its a slow process and when a flare not to use it. Yes, I do have Lidocaine, although I'm scared to use it. I only have pain if I touch the area or when I wipe, so I'm very careful when I wipe.

I called the Dr.'s Office and spoke to the receptionist, she then relayed the message to the supervising nurse. The nurse didn't speak to me but would like to see me tomorrow at 8 a.m. All I wanted to know was approx. how long it takes to heal and I can't get an answer, this is bizarre to me. Ladies to tell you the truth, I don't want to go to the doctors and pay a $20 co-pay for her to put silver nitrate on the wound, then send me off to let it heal. Does anyone know anything about silver nitrate, is it worth it to have this applied on the biopsy area? My thought is that it just has to restart the healing process over again.

Thats a good idea because if I cross my legs it irritates the area. What baffled me was last week, when I called and spoke to the nurse was that she couldn't tell me the name of the area that my OBGYN biopsied. Now, to me thats insane and she shouldn't even be a nurse if she couldn't answer that question as far as I'm concerned. I couldn't even tell my Stanford Vulvar Specialist because I didn't know. I'll have to look up pictures of the perineium, so I can become more knowledgeable and identify whats where.
