Ladies,

Well I have been told, though I already knew, that I have generalized

vulvodynia. Was told it was the hardest to treat.

So, my question is... Is there anyone on this listserv who has success

with treatments. What about Dr. Glazier in New York? Has anyone used

him?

Need some direction and encouragement. I am a nurse, so research

comes easy, but I need feedback from those who are " there " or " been there "

Go to our home page

http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/VulvarDisorders/

Click on Files (in the column on the left side)

Scroll down to SUCCESS STORIES. Click on that and you will find my success

story. I have been pain free except for occasional flares which do not last

very long, for years.

What is the difference between generalized vulvodynia and

vestibulitis? Since all of the doctors that I have seen can't give me

a straight answer, I am hoping someone here can.

Thank you,

OK, I read all the responses and I am curious... I do not have pain if

I sit on a donut... I do not have pain when I wake up in the

morning... it is only as the day wears on.. sitting on my vagina

causes it to start to burn at the back of the entry of my vaginal area

UNREAL. My PT told me I had a LOT of scar tissue back there from an

episiotomy... she said it did not give at all.

So my question is?

If general hurts even when you sleep at night how can mine be

general... I wake up in the morning pain free.

I also have scar tissue from an episiotomy decades ago and it flares up from

time to time. When that happens I have pain when I sit but I can scoot forward

and lean back in my chair to take pressure off the area.

This is the exact kind of pain I am experiencing and I am 60 so I KNOW it is not anything to do with eoisiodimy scarring....LOL! I am seeing Dr. Ledger in NYC (He is with Cornell Weill). He started me on a mild cordisone cream and estrogen suppositories...so far not great, but it's only been 2 weeks. I am hopeful! I also saw a Dr. Peacocke in NYC who treats patients with mega Vitamin D (see previous posts). I am grasping at straws right now and willing to try anything. Like you, I wake up fine in the morning, but within an hour, I am burning and raw....I too sit on my job which doesn't help. I have given up wearing pant/underwear and that does help. I also double rinse my clothes so there is no soap residue on anything. I find that icepacks every 3-4 hours for 15

minutes helps..I keep them in the freezer at work!

I have sat on copy paper spaced apart (so nothing touches my vagina)

and I am amazed.. or am I... it does not hurt hardly at all. I have

PANTS on today and it is still not burning like usual. It has to be

contact pressure. I found a picture this AM of Vestbulitis and mine

looks just like that at time, very red and angry in the back portion

of the vagina.

There is speculation out there that an epsiotomy scan can contriute.

Question?? Would PN make the back portion red and angry?? I have

researched like crazy since I am a nurse and it just comes so easy,

had this " STUFF " for a year and have not seen that documented. Do you

get red in that area with PN?
