Hello all,

I created a group called the " Sebastian Florida Autism & Special Needs Group " .

There are a lot of great resources in the area that sList is located, but

nothing for my area. I thought this would be a good idea to add resources for my

area, as well as share resources on this group as well. If you know anyone in

the Sebastian Florida area and they are looking for resources and help, please

refer them to this group, so that we can network together.

About the group:

Sebastian Florida Autism & Special Needs Group provides a place for people in

the Sebastian Florida area, and surrounding towns to network with other people

facing similar challenges with caring for a special needs child. While the main

topic will be Autism, all people are welcome to join that have a dependent with

special needs. We all need a helping hand and support.

I live in Sebastian, and I have a 3 year old son, that is displaying signs of

Autism. After the last two months of being here without any support whatsoever

from family or the local district, I decided to start this group for our area as

a way for parents and caregivers to find people local to network with, and find

the support that is so desperately needed.

This group will focus on social meetings, training, outings, potlucks, field

trips, advice and much more. This group is just starting, so please share this

group with other area Sebastian Florida individuals that are in need of support.

My desire for this group is to have a place for families locally to go for help

and support, and to share their experiences and knowledge with others who are

going through similar challenges. I want to provide a public forum where we can

support each other, ask questions and provide information in a non-critical

environment.

Please feel free to share this info with other parents, and join yourself.

This group will not just be an online group, I plan on having a variety of

activities and events for both children and adults, where people like us that

are facing these challenges, can come together with our children without the

fear of criticism.
