Guest guest
Jeanne, As to the TENs Unit, I would call whoever ordered it and find out when you can come in and be taught how to use it; it isn't hard at all (I have one) but I have to have my DH help me as I usually have to use it on my mid to low back area. As to the crocheting - there is a book w/hooks set up that is called " I taught myself to crochet " that is pretty easy to follow. There is also, believe it or not, instructions on either tape or dvd (check with the library) where it actually looks like you are sitting in someone's lap and working the stitches. Crochet isn't hard at all. I have been doing it since I was 9 or thereabouts and truly truly enjoy the relaxation and enjoyment I get out of creating something from these two hands! Plus, everything I make is usually given to someone and to date, NO ONE has ever said " yuck " ! In fact, a dear dear friend, when she found out she was pregnant with her 2nd child, made sure to tell me so she could have one of " my blankets " for her 2nd child too! Nothing compares to that. Ask away on the crochet, I have done model work for several professional designers, as well as my own amateur stuff, so I can " hook " you up (pun intended)......lolol.... (((Hugs))) Darlene > > How difficult would it be to teach myself to crochet? Are the books to learn pretty easy to follow? I used to do cross stitch, just got away from it. I should buy myself a new project to begin. The problem is that I cannot relax my back in a chair to sit and do it for a while. I do OK in the computer chair, but don't want to spend the entire day in it. I have my new TENS unit, now I just have to figure out how to hook it up and use it. > jeanne in wi > >
Guest guest
Thanks for the info. Darlene. I ordered the TENS unit myself as a prescription was not going to get it covered by my insurance anyway. I could probably go see my chiropractor and he would show me how to hook it up. My grandma crocheted until her hands became too crippled from RA. I was never interested in learning when I was little, but I'd like to be able to make some dishcloths and maybe an afghan or something. Guest guest
Jeanne, Your chiro should be able to help you, definitely! And there are some really easy dishcloth patterns available online that you use cotton on (I prefer peaches and cream, it is softer and easier to work with) and you can buy it in 1 lb cones online thru elmorepisgah.com (I think). Anyhow, pick up that book and see what you come up with and if you get stuck, you saw there are several of us who DO crochet who could likely help you out!!!! Guest guest
Jeanne, It's a piece of cake. You attach the patches to the cables to the unit. The patches come off the backing and put them on one side of your body. You then turn on the unit and adjust the strenght and pattern. Viola, dial your pain to stop your pain!!!. Judy Mer Ps if the pads get sticky put them onthe backing in the refridgerator for a little while and they will be fine. ---- Jeanne and Dave wrote: > Thanks for the info. Darlene.
