Another website at:

http://osumex.com/acetglucose.php

states:

Deficiencies or malfunctions in the ability to metabolize this sugar

have been linked to diseases of the bowel and bladder. Glucosamine has

been shown to help repair the mucosal-lining defensive barrier called

the glycosaminoglycan layer (GAG). Defects in the GAG layer have been

implimented in Crohn’s disease, Ulcerative Colitis, and Interstitial

Cystitis.

So it might be discrepancies in editing or copying information from

various sources.

But it really helps me and I would not be without it.

I no longer have that problem regularly but do occasionally.

I cannot say whether it would help it but it surely helps the rectal

burning.

As a matter of fact last week I tried d-mannose and (1 tsp in a cup of

water) and I had bladder and vestibule burning like I never had

before. I took some pyridium and it helped for a few hours but the

burning persisted for three days and finally I took an atropine pill

(lomotil) which I had left over from a prescription when I had a bad

case of diarrhea and the burning stopped and did not return.
