Guest guest
Your son does not " NEED to HAVE " any vaccines. Take a look here: http://www.hrsa.gov/vaccinecompensation/statistics_report.htm Then ask your Dr if he will personally take financial responibility if your son has an adverse reaction. Guest guest
I can understand your concerns completely and I held back vaccines from my kids too, who are both autistic. My 11 year old son was getting repetitive sinus and ear infections and occasional pneumonia and could rarely recover from a cold or the flu without antibiotics. A hospital visit for other problems, revealed that his pneumococcal titres were very low and they suggested a vaccine to boost his immunity against this type of bacteria. Before giving him the vaccine, I researched it and made sure that it did not contain, thimerosal, the mercury derived preservative. Although thimerosal was removed from the majority of vaccines in the early 2000's, it is still being used in some, such as the H1N1 vaccine, I believe. Since my son had the vaccine, his health has improved enormously and he has had a couple of colds and managed to recover without any medication.I think you need to get him tested as Ellen suggested and then make your decision based on the results. The vaccines may not be necessary. I hope this helps.Caroline HI EVERYONE, My son is 8 yrs old and he doesn't have some vaccines and the Dr suggested me to get them for him and here's the list of the vaccines he needs to have: *MMR (he already had one MMR at age 1) *Varicella *Polio *Tdap booster I'm really scared..and i need opinions from all of you guys, please help. thanks

Guest guest
I can't tell from your post if your son has autism or other health problems. Few will tell you not to vaccinate but will tell you to do it when it is needed. By the time the child leaves the hospital after birth they will have given him a several vaccinations. I don't know of any studies that have dealt with all these shots being given at the same time and at such an early age.. It is done out of convenience and not out of need. You always have to weigh what is more important since children without the proper vaccinations may develop what they are meant to prevent. Guest guest
My reason to stop moving forward with his schedule is the prospect that if vaccines contributed in ANY way to my son's diagnosis, then I'd be taking a risk in continuing to administer vaccines and that he may regress and/or develop additional symptoms. It's not a risk I'm willing to take at this time. I heard of a 16 year old that was "recovered" using biomedical and other interventions. He visited his grandparents farm one summer and completely regressed as a result of being exposed to the pesticides on the farm. He stopped speaking and began to engage in self-stimulatory behaviors as he had in the past. I heard this from a doctor who had this child as his patient. That would be my guess as to why parents choose to forgo the remaining schedule. Guest guest
Because you can't predict how kids will react..things can always get more complicated for these kids than they already are especially if they have an underlying, undiagnosed condition.Just my two cents...Sent from my iPhone Here's a question and NOT a judgment since we all are doing the best for our kids:If your child(ren) already have autism.....and assuming your child does not have a BAD reaction to vaccines.........what's the point of continuing not to get them for your kids?Sent on the Sprint® Now Network from my BlackBerry®From: autisticangels@... Guest guest
Because one of the theories of autism is an autoimmune/inflammatory process. Any challenge to the immune system is therefore an unknown and may make it worse As an analogy, if the child already has asthma, what is the point of continuing to not smoke around him? Our story I saw my son (always non-neurotypical) change profoundly after his preschool vaccines. I assumed it was the thimerosal component and avoided having him vaccinated after that. We chelated him and he improved. We did DAN and he improved. We did meds, diets, a lot of prescriptions and alternative medicine and it all helped, slowly gaining ground a bit at a time. Go to age 13, and he cut his thumb through the joint--tetanus was of course not up to date. ER wants to vaccinate. I chose to risk the vaccine and immediately chelate, so it would keep the thimerosal from hurting him (there was about an hour between the shot and the first dose of DMSA). Well, his neurology deteriorated profoundly within days. We held on for a month of really severe behavior, then his psychiatrist ended up having to double--yes double one of his meds and increase another because of the exacerbation. Took 2 years to get back to where we had been pre tetanus. Wasn't the thimerosal that time. Or maybe at age 4 it was the thimerosal and the increased activity of his immune system combined, and we just stopped part of the problem but not the rest this time. I do not remember a bad reaction to the primary series when he was a baby. It might have been there, and not noticeable to me, just showing up later, or the repeated exposure of the secondary vaccination worsened his immune response to a noxious stimulus (the immune system responds stronger to something it has seen before and not liked). The bottom line is every story is different. No one can tell you how it will work out for your child. He may be fine. He may not be. You might avoid the vaccine and have your child contract the actual disease and have a bad reaction. Certainly with autism already a problem, you know the neurology and immune system of your child is not working right, so there is increased risk with vaccination. You do the research, make your choices and bear the consequences. I suggest if you are going to do the vaccinations, get one vaccine at a time, wait a month or more between, never get a vaccine when the child is ill and if you can work with a homeopath to mitigate problems. For my child, anyone approaching him with a vaccine will be seen as threatening imminent bodily harm and dealt with accordingly. I am improving his immune system with homeopathy. I wish I had known about homeopathic " vaccinations " when he was a baby. I made my choices and bear the consequences. Good luck > Here's a question and NOT a judgment since we all are doing the best > for our kids: > > If your child(ren) already have autism.....and assuming your child > does not have a BAD reaction to vaccines.........what's the point of > continuing not to get them for your kids? > > Sent on the Sprint® Now Network from my BlackBerry® > > From: autisticangels@... > Sender: sList > Date: Fri, 17 Sep 2010 20:07:31 +0000 > To: <sList > > ReplyTo: sList > Subject: Re: Vaccines > > > I have a permanent waiver for all my children now. Guest guest
Hello , Of the $2,000,000,000.00+ awarded in vaccine court and the 1,000+ deaths attributed to vaccine adverse reactions, NONE of them were for autism. http://www.hrsa.gov/vaccinecompensation/statistics_report.htm The medical community does no screening for adverse reactions before vaccinating. For instance, many vaccines conatin eggs. What if your child is allergic? There are a variety of other additives beside the active ingredients that may also be allergens, just as an example of lack of screening. There have been no long term studies of the safety of multi-vaccines administered with other vaccines. In fact when the study of the MMR with chicken pox added was trialed the study had to be stopped because of the unacceptable number of adverse reactions. An example of a schedule gone slightly astray is the HepB vaccine. For many years this was given to newborns before they left the hospital. Hep B is typically transmitted via sex or dirty needles and is number 1 in single vaccine adverse reactions and number 3 after DTP and MMR multi vaccines. Where was the common sense in this policy? A close look at the above link to the US Dept of Health site, the CDC's own site and the vaccine manufacturer's websites to read the package inserts is enough to give one pause about following the schedule blindly, or in some cases giving vaccines at all. Guest guest
The other day I went to donate blood. They asked me to write down the names of the countries I have visited within the last 12 months. When I mentioned the D.R. (the Dominican Republic), I was told that I could not donate blood because there is malaria in the D.R. I did not know that. My husband took the daily malaria pill for a whole year when he was based in Congo. I used to laugh of him and call him a sissy. That was before my childhood friend died of complications related to malaria she got when working as a missionary in Zaire. Do you or your family travel to countries where they still struggle with dangerous diseases? Do your kids hang out with kids who are not vaccinated? What are the chances you kid will get mumps or rubella, for example, when he only hangs out with kids who already are vaccinated? Children do not get autism at the age of 8, of course, and this is a very, very, very good point. The vaccines are offered when the kids are very young not because it is convenient, but because the baby's immunesystem is low. A fever spikes fast, and seizures and coma can happen within very little time. Brain damage and death could be the result. As the children grow older they become stronger. If the child surives the first couple of years, he will most likely survive some of the most common childhood illnesses should he get that when he is older. My brother, sister and myself had measels, mumps and rubella and we had no complications, just a couple of days off from school. But, we were not infants. We were in all in elementary school ( none of us were vaccinated). The WHO (the World Health Organization) has worked hard globally to ensure that babies survive their first year. Immunization has been and continues to be very important. Children do not recover from autism because of some "bio" treatment, and the autism does not "come back" because they spent a summer on a farm. I grew up on a farm and I spend every summer there. It is the perfect place for any kid. Guest guest
Jana,He had the " Pneumovax 23. " After receiving the vaccine, his titers were rechecked and found to be normal. They did not know how he would react to the vaccine, and had it not been favorable, he could have been a candidate for IVIG to boost his immunity. I am happy for now that we did not have to proceed further. I am amazed at how he is physically so much better (and happier . This, I believe, is not only due to the vaccine but also the treatment of his ulcers, which could have gone undiagnosed for some time; my youngest of two is unable to verbalize his discomfort etc. For those of our kids who have predominant health issues on top of everything else, it is a rough road trying to get to the bottom of the underlying cause/s. It has taken me 3 1/2 years of constant trial and error, biomedical treatments (which did not work for him), and hospitalization when things got really bad. My 11 year old has had a feeding disorder since he was 7 months but in the past 6 months he has totally come off the formula he relied upon for nutrition and is now eating like a horse and chewing and swallowing normally. He has put on 10 lbs in weight! He has also learned to say " Publix " when he gets hungry! The reason for me giving all this additional info., is for other parents out there who are struggling with the same. At one point I thought " this is it, we are never going to get to the bottom of this, " and may be we haven't entirely, but things have improved by 100% in my eyes over the past 6 months. As parents of these special kids, faith and hope is what we hang on to. Feel free to ask anything else.Caroline What vaccine did you get for him that improved his health? I am very interested. Thanks!Sent from my iPhone I can understand your concerns completely and I held back vaccines from my kids too, who are both autistic. I hope this helps.Caroline HI EVERYONE, My son is 8 yrs old and he doesn't have some vaccines and the Dr suggested me to get them for him and here's the list of the vaccines he needs to have: *MMR (he already had one MMR at age 1) *Varicella *Polio *Tdap booster I'm really scared..and i need opinions from all of you guys, please help. thanks
Guest guest
Hello , I was answering your question. My son has not been vaccinated since diagnosis 10 years ago. In researching vaccines and the schedule at that time I concluded that any of the remaining vaccines he might get were not worth the risk given the standard list of and chance of adverse reactions that have nothing to do with autism. The awards by the vaccine court I linked to do not include settlements or any adverse reaction that was not taken to the court. Given that your family pediatrician will never consider that anything beyond a mild fever and redness at the injection site is the result of a vaccination and that we are talking about big money and federal court the cases that even go to vaccine court account for a very small number of actual serious adverse reactions. Vaccines are not the benign saviors the CDC would have you think. They are designed to aggrevate the immune system of very small children with no screening for potential adverse reactions. This serious assault on an infants immune system is taken very lightly by the medical community and with good reason, they have no liability. There is a very good reason vaccine court exists and that DR's and vaccine manufacturers have no liabilty for adverse reactions. Guest guest
The doctor who treated the teenager was Dr. Rossignol. You can call him to confirm the story. The office has treated thousands of kids with autism and have medical records and documentation to support many of their patients no longer qualify for a diagnosis of autism. Guest guest
The idea of a vaccine to " improve health " can make total sense. You give vaccines to protect against certain diseases, therefore, giving a vaccine to a child whose titers are low with regard to his resistance against a particular bacteria strain, will protect him from that bacteria (boost his immunity against it), which will in turn " improve his health. " My son is living proof of this. The timing of the vaccine, the retest of his titers and the fact that I have not since had to give him antibiotics, tells me that it worked. Jana,Improve their health? That makes no sense. Aren't the purpose of vaccines to prevent things. I got them AND YES I'm fully aware the ones I got aren't the same as the one my son gets.
