You give vaccines to protect against certain diseases, therefore, giving a vaccine to a child whose titers are low with regard to his resistance against a particular bacteria strain, will protect him from that bacteria (boost his immunity against it), which will in turn " improve his health. " My son is living proof of this. The timing of the vaccine, the retest of his titers and the fact that I have not since had to give him antibiotics, tells me that it worked. Jana,Improve their health? That makes no sense. Aren't the purpose of vaccines to prevent things. I got them AND YES I'm fully aware the ones I got aren't the same as the one my son gets. You get your animals rabies vaccines (for those who have animals)Sent on the Sprint® Now Network from my BlackBerry®Sender: sList Date: Sat, 18 Sep 2010 11:27:21 -0400To: sList <sList >ReplyTo: sList Subject: Re: Vaccines What vaccine did you get for him that improved his health? I am very interested. Thanks!Sent from my iPhone I can understand your concerns completely and I held back vaccines from my kids too, who are both autistic. My 11 year old son was getting repetitive sinus and ear infections and occasional pneumonia and could rarely recover from a cold or the flu without antibiotics.A hospital visit for other problems, revealed that his pneumococcal titres were very low and they suggested a vaccine to boost his immunity against this type of bacteria. Before giving him the vaccine, I researched it and made sure that it did not contain, thimerosal, the mercury derived preservative. Although thimerosal was removed from the majority of vaccines in the early 2000's, it is still being used in some, such as the H1N1 vaccine, I believe.Since my son had the vaccine, his health has improved enormously and he has had a couple of colds and managed to recover without any medication.I think you need to get him tested as Ellen suggested and then make your decision based on the results. The vaccines may not be necessary.I hope this helps.Caroline HI EVERYONE,My son is 8 yrs old and he doesn't have some vaccines and the Dr suggested me to get them for him and here's the list of the vaccines he needs to have:*MMR (he already had one MMR at age 1)*Varicella*Polio*Tdap boosterI'm really scared..and i need opinions from all of you guys, please help.thanks
