follow-up to Chinese drug manufacturers

I have visited several national drug stores over the last few months and I have picked up some OTC items (vitamins, etc.) and have asked the pharmacists on duty where the raw materials came from and where the drugs were manufactured. Only one felt reasonably sure that nothing came from China. If you speak to the pharmacy tech first, they invariably look at the packaging and tell me that it's from ..... whatever the distributor's name/location are. The distributor is not the manufacturer and the manufacturer is not necessarily where the raw materials come from. Considering how often people in this group use Cipro, I think that we should all start asking some serious questions about drug safety.
