Guest guest
I was wondering what people here thought about special interest getting involved in autism advocacy. I was approached two times by the lumber industry where I live. Another autism group that is newer is heavily involved with a lumber industry business owner 1 year after I was approached. I was wondering what is special interest to autism, those with autism, the politics of autism and so on. As a person with autism, a human rights guide for those with developmental disabilities including autism explained about those with disabilities and having a hard time trusting. I don't really trust a whole lot of others and if when I do I trust to much and other times not at all. My self-advocacy organization I started that is doing very well I keep away from all that. The general public supporting what I do, with thousands of candles sold so far for autism and developmental disability employment is enough. I feel by staying away from other groups and always thinking about the intents of others I can keep safe from the danger of exclusion whereas my organization is about inclusion. Does anyone here run a disability organization or is member of a disability organization and how do you determine trust? What is and what is not special interest?
