Guest guest
Hi Debbie,I had a j-pouch a little over 2 years ago. I take 500 mg of flagyl twice a day, which seems to control the diarrhea to some degree. I've been taking imodium once in a while. If you read the insert on imodium (as I recall) you need to be careful taking this if you have liver issues. You need to work with both the GI & hep. to find something that works to control your stools. Out of control pouchitis can lead to a loss of the j-pouch.As to floating stools, I guess the question is, does the diarrhea float or sink. It may do a bit of both.Keep drinking the water, and possible drink gatorade or another water that contains minerals. You're losing both water and minerals. I actually salt my food more than most people to make up for the water & mineral loss. However, as liver disease progresses, I think I'll need to with hold the salt.Marie The best games are on Xbox 360. Click here for a special offer on an Xbox 360 Console. Get it now!
