Arne, thanks for the very clarifying, information.

I did go thru a 3 day, chills, fever [101d] and nuasea

attack last week. and w/low fever the week before. I

did not even take cipro bacause of the resistance.

Probably, i should but better to go the ER.

As i have learned is that if there is no fever, then

there is no need for antibiotics [no infection], i

guess.

When my doctor spoke to me last Friday morning, the

fever and chills have already resolved. But he did say

that becuase of the high fever that i should have went

to the ER for antibiotics.

I also had some high grade, central abdominal pain

that is not usually associated w/these attacks but

this is not the first time that i am getting it [plus

a lot of bowel irritation, ]w/an attack. My doctor

theory is that bacteria might have been leaking from

my bile duct into the blood stream and causing the gut

problem. This is the first time that i have heard of

this. Any one else?

Arne, is abd pain/cramps a sepsis symptom? But sepsis

would not be resolved w/out antibiotics, and mine did

without them. So then may be that was not sepsis?

Thanks.

I don’t think so (abdominal pain), but it's really a question for a physician. See http://www.emedicinehealth.com/sepsis_blood_infection/article_em.htm for general information and http://www.wrongdiagnosis.com/sym/sepsis.htm to see how complicated (and dangerous!) it can be.

Glad you're feeling better.

Arne,

I do very much agree with you that sepsis can be very

complicated and dangerous, too. It is so good to know

that information so one can watch for the warning

signs. I have never thought that it can come from all

these sources of infection in the body. Plus those

other causes.

I do appreciate your help. Thanks.
