Guest guest
I would suggest that the approach you use should be one of either asking " then where is it done and couldn't it be sent to them " or, asking for a referral to a geneticist, because " maybe they know where the lab is that does the testing, because I know these things can be sent out if they are not available locally " . That would preserve more of your relationship with this person, because when all is said and done, you still have to keep using this guy (unless you are in a big city with your choice of pediatricians). And remember, your insurance may not cover it unless your pediatrician goes to bat and says the kid needs the test, and even then might not cover it. > > Wow. That's kind of disheartening. Guest guest
I would also check the book, Healing and Preventing Autism by J. McCarthy and Dr. Kartzinel. He provides the terminology for many of the tests our insurance programs do cover and how to request the test. You could also consult with a DAN doc or check the ARI website or one of the others that discuss the labs in detail, like TACA. Sent from my iPhone I would suggest that the approach you use should be one of either asking "then where is it done and couldn't it be sent to them" or, asking for a referral to a geneticist, because "maybe they know where the lab is that does the testing, because I know these things can be sent out if they are not available locally".
