Guest guest
I am told there is an uphill battle in public relations for autism and developmental disability employment. Not everyone with disabilities is able to work in traditional settings. I am not sure how it is like for you there as far as day programs being offered. Ever since I was ten I've been very interested in working but never accomplished working for someone else. In my attempts I've refurbished and rebuilt over a thousand computers but computers are tricky beasts. In advocacy it's hard getting the attention of younger children's parents as employment is a far off objective. I hated it but here on a half a dozen radio stations it was announced a meet and greet to learn about such disability work programs. I got to meet with parents and people with developmental disabilities. Most parents don't want to place limitations on their children. Employment innovations for those that need structured facilitated employment like what exist here in day center employment programs needs the support of parents. Employment equality, hope and transitions by choice need the support of parents in the autism community abroad. My job is to raise the hell, be creative and entice the imaginations of others outside my area to make for a community supported employment industry framework. I don't want to keep talking about the same things here. For those that do not want to be mainstreamed in adulthood or just cannot it seems there is a customized employment framework I have developed that can help some. Here in Humboldt county in Fortuna City most of the ten thousand residents know of the candle program now expanding to other products. I'm also launching the Humboldt Includes campaign which I recommend for other areas to entice businesses with support workers for transitional employment. Is there anything anyone would like to talk about here with regard to accommodating work advocacy? I've poured over 15,000 candles here and others do the lotions and label parts of the candles. We just finished a project with 5,000 work program magnets for the candles, sniffer samples and candle coupons to go in the newspapers again. Large saturated awareness and community support takes allot of work and I'd hope others would take the initiative and create hope in other areas for groups of individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. If not I may expand to an area near you, well least in California, or provide these products here on a national level. Robotic equipment is being purchased next. IT will be some time before the internet campaign begins and the products are offered on Amazon.com like a recent news article about the company outlined. I thought I would offer otherwise I'll do it myself. Young
Guest guest
There are two recent articles about my project and numerous past articles including two front page featured stories, T.V news awareness and donated large scale radio campaigns. It is part of my ISP \ IPP regional center services and supports. I think that is like an IEP for school aged people. Others I hire are part of the regional center system. One was in the last newspaper article making lotions, not candle like they said as obviously in the picture she is making lotions. http://www.humboldtbeacon.com/rss/ci_15974405 http://www.times-standard.com/ci_14497008?IADID=Search-www.times-standard.com-ww\ w.times-standard.com Here are some people talking about the company on the radio. http://www.compassionateintegrations.org/autismleadership.mp3 http://www.compassionateintegrations.org/HumboldtIncludes.mp3 I do not sell candles and the other products online as I cannot keep up now. My intent with sharing this information is not to sell people things but I am very excited about the accomplishments. I think it means a great deal because as a work industry I can lead, make examples and socially influence the world around me so to create improvements and influence others to create inclusion. I am also launching the Humboldt Includes campaign which will help people acquire transitional employment skills, even because of autism the transitional ability to tolerate new circumstances, I'm much like that and am very rigid. I am not an expert. Anyone with a substantial developmental disabilities as defined by California law can qualify to benefit from my organization so as long as I am doing a good job and a support agency is working with me. My organization is not that complex so far I make all the decisions but when there is a board of directors I won't make all the decisions. I just hope they are dedicated and innovative in advocacy like me as I cannot keep up with all the things required in business. So I hire a CPA for instance but when it becomes a non-profit I hope to find a bookkeeper that is a parent for instance to do that as a volunteer or much cheaper. My extension on the phone system is 701. Young > > " Is there anything anyone would like to talk about here with regard to > accommodating work advocacy?
