Syndrome, and to improve the educational and social outcomes for children and

adults with Asperger’s and other Autism Spectrum Disorders. Individuals with

these disorders demonstrate impairment in social reciprocity, and exhibit

“mindblindness” that limits their success in school, social and work situations

despite average to superior intellect. Strategies to understand and address the

core deficits associated with AS will be described, with an emphasis on

developing social understanding and perspective taking, flexible thinking, and

affective education.
