Guest guest
<<<<<<Is anyone or has anyone ever been on and used Premarin (Estragon Cream) I don't find it helping much.>>>>Tina, This is my opinion, but I disagree that all estrogen bases are the same. Premarin is synthetic - it's made from pregnant horse urine. Estrace, on the other hand, is bioidentical, meaning your body cannot distinguish it from what your ovary produces. I haven't used Premarin, and I won't. I have used Estrace for the past 3 years. It has helped my vulvar skin tremendously. Not every woman with vulvar pain will respond to estrogen used topically in the vulvar area. My 'skin' was in bad shape when I began using it. It was red, very irritated and even getting tiny tears. After a few months of using topical Estrace, my skin healed up and it now feels much better. It's just better that we educate ourselves... most docs are clueless about female hormones. Hope this helps some.... Chelle
Guest guest
My Estrace has alcohol in it too, but oddly enough, it's never bothered me. But some have Estradiol (the type of Estrogen in Estrace) compounded in a soothing base. We have a good compounding Pharmacy listed in the Database. Take Care,ChelleI looked this morning at the ingredients of my Premarin and it looks like it has a lot of alchool in it.
Guest guest
Tina, That's why it's called Premarin - PREgnant MAre uRINe. I used estradiol (a tiny amount topically) throughout pregnancy and my specialist said it's safe for breastfeeding as well. Many women use estrogen during breastfeeding as the hormonal changes can be drying even to " regular " women without vulvar issues.
