Guest guest
Dear ,Why would it cost so much?Go to cheaptickets.com , both Northwest and Continental have flights under $200.About $200 with tax.So $200 flight $170 conference [includes food] $178 two nights at $89 hotel priceTotal $548Even if two people come this is still half of what you expect.Check it out. It would be such a great experience for you if you can make it.Good luck,LeeI want to go to ville this year but it would cost us nearly $2000 and I'm not sure we could do that right now. I want to sugggest Omaha, Nebraska for the location of the 2009 conference so that I can go for sure. I'm not sure what to do. I saw the guidlines on the pscpartners.org website. Guest guest
Hi , I'm sorry to hear you won't be able to make it to the conference in ville. The line-up of speakers is phenomenall (I know Ricky has worked so hard on this all year) and the friendships that are made during the weekend are irreplaceable. I know with flights and lodging it can add up. But the conference fee includes all your food (which is a great deal) for the whole weekend. Southwest is having a sale on fares now...not sure if that would help you or not. But to answer your question... What I did was to ask Todd's doctor to work with me as a partner for the conference. Not only did I need for him to speak but I also needed many other top physicians to fill the agenda. He was crucial in helping to secure some of the other speakers and also helped me with some of the topics that would be beneficial for the majority of patients. When I had taken my son to see a specialist for itching in NYC I knew she would be perfect...so after she was done helping my son, I just came out and asked. I was shocked when she took out her calendar and said sure. Most of the physicians don't take an honorarium (it helps a lot if they don't), but you have to keep in mind the cost of their travel expenses. So the more experts you have in your area the better. I think the biggest surprise for me when I was planning the conference in 06 was the cost of food at the hotels and the other misc. expenses they charge for (microphones, overhead projectors, etc). If there is anything else you need help with you can email me privately. I'll be happy to help. Joanne (mom of Todd). Guest guest
It would cost us that much because we have 4 kids we have to tote around everywhere with us, lol. I will check that website though and see what I can find. Thanks! > > Dear , > Why would it cost so much? > Go to cheaptickets.com , both Northwest and Continental have flights > under $200. > About $200 with tax. > So $200 flight > $170 conference [includes food] > $178 two nights at $89 hotel price > Total $
Guest guest
Well, that does make a difference !!Maybe this year just one of you could come? It is as helpful for the caregiver as it is for the patient so maybe which ever oneof you is better with the kiddies could stay with them? Just a thought, better one than none.LeeIt would cost us that much because we have 4 kids we have to tote around everywhere with us, lol. I will check that website though and see what I can find.
