Guest guest
Jen,I'm not sure what to tell you. Did you go to Dr. Conway & did he diagnose you with PN or is that what you suspect right now? I flew to NH twice last winter and had two rounds of bilateral PN blocks. Neither round helped the pain with sitting, but they did help my bladder (IC) some. Have you tried PT? You could get an evaluation just to see whether or not you have tight pelvic floor muscles. There are also topical meds you can try on the vulvar area that you can have compounded. Of course, though, if you know the pain is coming from the Pudendal nerve branches topical's might not work. Trial and error! Take Care,ChelleMelinda recommends Ann Levesque (PT) in Beverly, MA. Lynn Assad (PT) works with Dr. Conway.
Guest guest
Chelle I did speak to Dr. Conway on the phone he said that my symptoms sounded alot like PN...also my gyno did the skin roll test and the nerves down there went wild , so she is referred me to the Pain Center at Elliot Hosp. in NH and they are going to do a nerve block or freeze the nerve that is what she said anyway, I am hoping to get some relief from it because this not being able to sit really sucks, I can live with the skirts and baggie pants but sitting would be a nice benefit to my life about now...I had an eye appoint. yesterday and had to lay in the back of the car all the way, so much for the seatbelt law. I did go to PT once but I live in Maine and the only thing they really told me was to do kegals and that made it worst, how do they know if you have tight pelvic floor muscles?? What topical meds are there? I am using lidocane on my butt , sometimes it helps but most times it doesn't. Like you said trial and error , the only thing I can do is hope that something will eventually work... Thanks Chelle Subject: Re: Nerve BlockTo: VulvarDisorders Date: Wednesday, August 13, 2008, 3:30 PM Jen,I'm not sure what to tell you.
