Starzl is considered the Father of liver transplantation. He wrote an

editorial about a donor cells allowing organ tolerance without

immunosupressants. This could be the next improvement in liver

transplantation.

His book: The Puzzle People: Memoirs of a Transplant Surgeon is a

must read for anyone interested in the history of transplantation.
