Dear Tom,

I'm not sure I understand what you mean about aligning the bones without manipulation?

I've started getting alignments recently, but I'm not sure if they're what you mean or not, and if not, what the difference(s) is/are. Would you mind explaining?

Thanks,

~~

Re: Re: twisted/rotated pelvis ?

Finding a practitoner who knows how to align the bones withoutmanipulation is of paramount importance to affecting a cure. For thisreason I put together a course called "M3 No Man's Land" "The allexternal treatment of Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome." And, it is designedso that male as well as female Physical Therapists can correct theproblems and reverse the disease. K. Ockler P.T.www.tomocklerpt.com

HI ,

People who like to manipulate the bones as in crack them Operate on the

assumption that the bones are stuck out of place and that something in the

joint is the problem, like some sticky glue that needs to be broken up by

the manipulation. This is completely false. The bones do what the

muscles tell them to do. So directing your treatment technique to the

joints is like trying to fix a flat tire by hitting it with a sledge

hammer.

There are non-manipulative techniques that correct the problem that the

muscle is having which is too much tone and turn he muscles tone back to

" Factor Settings " so to speak. When those key muscles are set back to

normal tone, tension and reactivity, they let the bones and joints come

back to their most optimal position and " behave " as they were intended.

When this happens, the trigger points let go, blood gets into the muscle,

flushes out the lactic acid, and the muscles themselves can then be

trained to do what they forgot to do because they were all " tied up " in

knots.

The Techniques are called Muscle Energy Technique and Counterstrain. They

reprogram the muscle and at the same time coax the bones back to the

normal position.

Hope this helps,

Tom

Tom,In the case of long-term Lyme disease, where the muscle and connective tissueshave been chronically infected and adversely affected as far as function goes, are these techniques still effective? Can those " factory settings " be obtained and, if so, do they hold?I guess what i'm trying to ask in a round-about way is: have you ever worked withanyone with chronic neuro Lyme (or other neuro-muscular conditions, like MS, forexample) and what were your results?HollisHI , People who like to manipulate the bones as in crack them Operate on the assumption that the bones are stuck out of place and that something in the joint is the problem, like some sticky glue that needs to be broken up by the manipulation. Joyce,

First of all, 25 years of adjustments and the long term result is the

same... still have pain.

The manips release a puff of endorphine into the body (= the morphine

within) and feels temporarioly better.

But if you have to go back for 25 years and still have the problem...

it's not the correct technique.

Yes, a skilled practitioner can correct the problem not treat the

symptoms and as embarrassing as this sounds, Physical Therapits are not

trained to do this work unless they take special classes.

I teach those classes so I know how rare it is to find someone who is

asctually an expert.

You can read more about this on my website: www.tomocklerpt.com

Hi Holis,

My Ex Girlfriend Sherry had both Vulvadynia and lymes disease.

She sought out alternative treatment for the lymes in the way of

massive doses of vitamin C administered I.V. And it worked

beautifullly!!!!

Her vulvar symptoms were pre-lymes but you never know if they were

related and dormant.

She has no vulvar symptoms anymore and did very well . She is the one

who encouraged me to get into this area of dysfunction ( women's health

) and she is co-teaching the M3 course ( the All External Eval and

Treatment of Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome) with me.

Lyme's may add a greater challenge but you still have to get things

lined up and symmetrical and take the trigger points down or y ou are

just stuck in a vicious cycle.

Even MS does not change the fact that you must get these things level

and symmetrical and get rid of the triggers. It makes my job tougher

but not impossible.
