I would like to take my son to get an immune panel, does anyone know a good

immunologist or infectious diseases Dr. who specializes in autism and related

autoimmune issues here in South Florida? I'm looking for a doctor who will take

us seriously and is on board with the theory that autism can be related to

autoimmunity.

Thanks so much,

Shiri

Thanks! Did you need a referral from a Pediatrician? Do you know if he does

testing for viral titers, etc?

Thanks again!

HiThe one thing that came from my son's immune panel was that his " pneumococcol titers " were low, thus he was unable to fight the frequent sinus and chest infections he was getting.  To help resolve this he had a vaccine to boost his titers and a retest showed that they are now within the normal range.

Jo , obviously specializes in immunology but I am not aware of her specific views on the link between autoimmune disease and autism.Perhaps you might call her to have an initial consult?  Her telephone number is:  .

Hope this helps.All the best,Caroline

You are welcome. My son was referred by his neurologist.  He was admitted into hospital for various tests over a couple of days, including the immunology testing.I don't know anything about viral titers; best you speak to Jo.  She is very approachable and I am sure she will be able to answer your questions or direct you to someone who can.

Good luck again!Caroline
