Guest guest
Please do a search on " Laid in Montana " in the group's search box. You'llfind a lot of information on why i believe Laid in Montana emu oil is amongthe best you can buy.HollisHi, I'm new here and will be doing some reading here in the next couple of days. I had some burning and itching and used otc yeast med and it continued so I went to the DR and was dx'ed with BV so I used Metrogel vaginally but the itching and burning never stopped. It's been over 3 months now of a burning/itching cycle from hell. I haven't been able to have sex in all that time and I am getting depressed with all this. I'm 38 and trying to do some classes and boy does it hurt to sit long. I've soince all that been back to the GP twice, 2 different Nurse practitioners and one gynecologist. The suggestions I was given was to try Yaz, Estrogen cream and to do salt rinses. I am so painful that clear water in the shower sets it off on a pain /itching cycle. I finally used vaseline to rub on and it eases the discomfort a little. I'm going to read here to see if people have gotten some relief from various things because this is getting to be too much and I can't get enough medical help here because they have no idea what it is. I want to try Emu oil on the area. How do I tell if it is pure enough so it won't cause any infection or such? I have the specs given to me off one I ordered. Maybe someone who is more familiar with it can help me understand it. I'm hoping it's ok because I'd like to start using it tonight so if anyone can help it would be so wonderful!! Guest guest
Hi Her70cuda, Please do go back and read the older posts, hopefully you will find some info that will help. Itching can be caused by several things, of course infection, but be sure to ask for a culture to make 'sure' you actually have one. Docs are so quick to try all creams, etc. whether you really have an infection or not. Hormones can cause itching, too. Lack of estrogen in the vulvar area can lead to thinning of the tissues, which can cause itching and pain, soreness, etc. I hope you get some relief soon. In the meantime, I'll send in a list of home remedies for vulvar pain when flaring and just needing some immediate relief. Guest guest
Chelle, Thanks. I've been using the emu oil but it isn't any difference really besides a small amount of lubrication. I don't know if any relief would be soon or if it would take a matter of days or weeks to see if it helped. I've had two cultures done in the past month, I believe they checked for bacteria and yeast and I was told they were negative. The gyno's big solution is for me to take Yaz. I've been reading bcp pills can make it worse so I don't know if I should even give it a shot. I'm already so irritated I can't stand life. He doesn't seem to know a thing about the irritation and was more dismissive of my concerns than anything, I don't like him for a Doc. His main concern seemed to be the bad pms and heavy bleeding but to me those are secondary to an irritation that is interfering with my life every day. I'm beginning to hate every day of my life. > > Hi Her70cuda, > > Please do go back and read the older posts, hopefully you will find some info that will help. > Itching can be caused by several things, of course infection, but be sure to ask for a culture to make 'sure' you actually have one. Guest guest
, I have so been where you are right now. I've had vulvodynia for a long time (but much better now), and for the first seven years...I had no relief whatsoever. Day in day out...constant pain. The first thing that ever helped me was an antihistamine. I took it at bedtime and it also helped me sleep. I had docs do me the same as your doc. They concentrated on other symptoms...and the bottom line was that they were CLUELESS when it came to vulvar pain. If anybody should know how to treat vulvar pain and irritation you would think it would be a gyn...but in my own experience they have been some of the most 'useless' docs I've ever seen! You definitely need a new practitioner. There could be a few things going on with you. You might have vulvodynia (which is just a catch all phrase for vulvar pain). It can be caused by several different things and we each have to figure that out. Tight pelvic floor muscles can cause pain and itching and mimic symptoms of an infection, lack of hormones, a true infection that hasn't been cultured, dietary sensitivities, like gluten intolerance, etc. If you can tell us where you are located, someone might have a referral for you regarding practitioners. You can also check in the database on our homepage. Let me know if you need help. Many of us have found far more help and answers from the online groups! There is truly far more help out there today then there has ever been. Don't give up....I suggest charting your symptoms. For instance, is the pain related in any way to your cycle or after you eat certain foods, or after you urinate, etc. Hang in there...and feel free to look back through the older posts and the links and files section on the homepage.
