A remedy for healing the reflux is Nexium, but I found that it worked best

in conjunction with Aciphex.

Love and gentle hugs,

Hello, my remedy is a glass of milk,it always works for me.And if it is really

bad, then I drink the milk, and then lay on my stomach for awhile,I just figured

that if it works (sometimes) for a colic baby, then it should work for reflux

too,and it always works. Cheryl

Yes. A good GI doctor.

I'm serious. Reflux, especially long term reflux, can be serious.

If this is a once-in-a-blue-moon thing handled with tums or prilosec,

it may be fine, but if it happens a lot, it can lead to erosion of

the esophagus and Barrett's syndrome, which is a precursor to

esophageal cancer. I burped and had heartburn for years, and when I

finally got it taken care of, it looked like someone had taken a

razor blade to my upper stomach and esophagus. A couple of years

ago, when my insurance co. screwed me around with my Aciphex, I very

nearly ended up with Barrett's.

This is really something you don't want to fool around with.

*OTC products like pecid ac, prilosec, cimetidine. All doses taken otc can

be doubled to equal a prescription dose. I also use ginger capsules, but

recommend taking an otc product and eating first, before using them.*

I just remembered my mom would always swig a liquid antacid like Mylanta or

there was one that began with an R. I hope you find something to help without

causing you the yeast problems. Take care.

Thanks all for the ideas. I've been a little concerned about trying some of

this things b/c of yeast/candida. I know Axid used to cause yeast overgrowth not

sure about the others.

Regarding the seriousness of this-I fully understand. I don't have it very

often and haven't had it for months until this week again. Will keep a close eye

on it-I assure you. Thanks for the concern! I appreciate it!
