Guest guest
Funny that is who I already have in place for my denial I know will come Binder Binder. I went on line though first under my state, and looked under atty referral for specialties areas and there were some there. The other call or go under .Gov of your state and find your the state referral for atty # and call them. Hope this is a help. I know someone here my husband works with hers and she was able to get through the denial and reapply and get on it herself!, I could not go through it 2nd time alone myself. To much paperwork! Good luck.Sharon DebiAC012553@... wrote: I applied last year for SSI and was turned down. I have checked out Binder and Binder and a few other attorneys that say they take on Social Security cases, but each of them have said that they do SS Disability, not SSI. Does anyone know what I can do to find an attorney who takes on SSI cases? Thank you for your help. Guest guest
Thank you, Sharon for your help. I will try what you suggested. I don't qualify, at all, for Social Security Disability, because I became disabled about 11 years ago and had to quit working, so I don't have the " quarters " that Binder and Binder said that I need in order for them to be of help. I know I have said this before, but I applied in Sept. 2006 via Allsup and whether it was the way they filled out the form, the doctors I saw, or the xrays and scans of my spine but the PA office in our area determined that I had been disabled when I last worked, Nov. 7, 2004. And I received payment back to Sept, 2005 in March of last year. Allsup DID NOT charge as much as SS stated they could, because they believed that the payment that was included was for the month that SS made the determination and sent the letter. I don't know if they are that successful with other clients, but the owner is a former social security employee who has had this company since the early 1980's. And one thing that was great was when I reviewed the form for the initial application, the woman who did it caught on pretty fast that they were asking the same questions over and over, just a few changes in the wording and she just cut and pasted the previous answer. I will admit I do have a bias as they are located in my home state and that my husband lived in the small suburb where they are located. > > > > >

I never felt as if anyone in that office was demeaning me!! I might just get the name of the founder of the company and speak to him about what someone in his office told you!! I filed via them in September of 2006 and received the determination as well as the money in March of 2007. Every time I called the office, I was treated with respect and no one ever said anything about sitting in a chair at Walmart! What was you last job? Most of my work history had been in an office as an admin assistant or representative and in all of those jobs I worked at a computer much of the day, but it could also have been that I have a number of conditions that had an effect on how they reached the conclusion in my favor. But I would really call back and ask to speak to either the owner or someone in senior management --- that does not sound like anyone I spoke to at Allsup --- and over those 7 months, I spoke to a number of different people!
