Guest guest
Thank you for replying ...I am sorry it has taken so long to reply. I stopped checking back for a reply to this Q. because it seemed that no one was replying.I am completely overwhelmed. I have no idea where Royal Palm Beach is and if it is indeed feasible to live there and work in PSL. I cannot tell from your post if you work in PSL or not.I really do appreciate the input about ARC and contact person, and I will look into this...thank you so much! Your best bet might be to touch base with the Arc. They provide services in West Palm Beach and might be able to offer you more insight. And, they can also set you up with services themselves including recreational and respite. Their parent contact person would be and her contact info is: EMILY SANDQUIST AT (561) 842-3213 OR ESANDQUIST@... We also had opportunity to live in PSL but were also able to choose our present location – Royal Palm Beach. We have had a great experience here with our school and services (even thought the services are much more limited that where we came from). I would be happy to share them with you but they might be a bit far from Palm Beach Gardens. Hopfully The Arc can help you out – they have been a wonderful resource for me. Feel free to follow up with me if you have additional questions. After moving numerous times and taking paycuts for our kids school...we really do not want to pass up the port st lucie op. But...I am getting miserable input about the schools for our kids there. And people who have moved to certain districts for their children's schooling are being placed elsewhere where they are very unhappy! I am thinking Palm Beach Garden's is a doable commute to PSL! Can anyone give me some input about Palm Beach Gardens??? Are you happy with your cluster classes (not sure if it is even called that in PBG's) if not are there good Mckay approved schools you are happy with? and what about therapy facilities? Do they accept (your) United Health Care Plan (if you have it). I have one child on medwaiver and one with UHP on the dreaded MW list . Any and all input about anything from Palm Beach Gardens to Port St Lucie would be appreciated! Thanks in advance! TLMorelli
Guest guest
Map Quest reports that in general, the commute from Royal Palm Beach to Port St Lucie is about 55 minutes but I would say it was more like 45 (depending on exact locations). My husband works in Palm Beach Gardens (at the mall) and that is why we were thinking about Port St Lucie initially - because we thought we could get more for our money in a house and living. But after our research, we felt the area would not support all we needed for our children. Since he worked in PBG, we were able to manage a commute from Royal Palm Beach as well and felt just being in Palm Beach County was a better option for us. It payed off. Definitely call the Arc and you can also check with FAU CARD as they service both counties I believe. I don’t have their number but you can google them or maybe someone on the list can provide their contact info. Good luck on your decision. Guest guest
I happen to have CARD's number . That may go directly to our old caseworker, Bairbre (Barbara) Flood. Doesn't matter, leave her a message. Also, you may want to give Easter Seals a call. ...my contact there was Ruth Bunkelmann. That's in West Palm Beach. > > Map Quest reports that in general, the commute from Royal Palm Beach to Port > St Lucie is about 55 minutes but I would say it was more like 45 (depending > on exact locations).
