Guest guest
Angie, glad you are feeling better. I had a thought about the ribs hurting (from my own experience, woohoo!) I have had pleurisy set in before in my ribs from the excessive coughing that didn't show up until AFTER the coughing was done (did that make sense?); I have also had costoconchriditis(SP?) set in - both are inflammations in the rib area and are usually from coughing, although pleurisy doesn't need that to get going. They gave me anti-inflammatories to bring the swelling down and had me using heat pads for relief. You may want to check into that? It's no fun not being able to take a deep breath without pain. Because then you breath too shallow and can cause other issues! Hope that helps some. Perhaps some of our medical folks can shed a little more light, but that's been my experience with it! ((Hugs)) darlene > > Hello to everyone and thank you for those that sent me Get Well wishes. I'm feeling improved today - so far - so that is a good thing. My ribs still hurt and I am NOT coughing enough to cause that. I'm being sort of sensitive to that because I have gotten pneumonia before. Can't seem to loosen this cough yet. I guess it will come along. > > My daughter went to school today. She has a short day and she's had so much trouble with absences that she figured they can send her home again but she's going to show up. I know they say keep them home but if you do they give you all kinds of grief about their absences. Even if they are excused, they still take away her credits if she has too many. She lost one whole semester of credits because she was sick too many days - even though she had doctor's notes excusing them all. It frustrates the heck out of me. No wonder a lot of kids just give up and quit. Plus, they send home letters about truancy and give your name to the local family intervention group and THEY start hounding you. > > I'm still brain-dead I think from the fever. So I'm reading all the posts but when I go to respond I just draw this blank. I've got the pc on my bed (laptop) and I'm keeping up. I've also been working on my 'psych' assignments. That sort of drains you. The TV is off because it's got nothing good on it. > > I had one other thing I wanted to contribute to some of the discussions. Especially, the Lyrica. Please keep in mind there are no cures for our illnesses; only treatments. So nothing we take is going to resolve all our pain. But trust me, if you quit taking it you will notice the difference. These things do help; they just don't cure. > > Well I'm going to go forage for lunch and check on the dogs.
