Does your child engage in rhythmic movement patterns? Do you ever wish you could enter your child’s world and just have fun? On Saturday, October 16th from 2:30 to 4pm, I will be reviewing the basics of dance/movement therapy (DMT) so you can use and practice these simple principles at home. The American Dance Therapy Association (ADTA) defines DMT, “as the psychotherapeutic use of movement as a process which furthers the emotional, cognitive, social and physical integration of the individual.†FACT: Research has demonstrated that rhythm is utilized as a co-operative imitation in the service of communication and attunement. This attunement process is suggested to lead to the development of language, social awareness, empathy and theory of mind. Learn how to tap into your child’s natural state of rhythm and become intuned!
