Guest guest
Hello, I have been suffering from vulvodynia for many years and recently found out that I have a prolactinoma. I would like to find out if someone is suffering from vulvodynia because of a prolactinoma or other hormonal problems. I look forward to hearing from you. Guest guest
Hi there,I hadn't ever heard of a Prolactinoma, so I looked it up. How long ago did you find out that you have one? As for the hormonal aspects, some of us do have hormonal problems or have found hormones to be helpful, especially using them topically on the vulvar area. What are you currently using to help with the vulvodynia? Take Care,Chelle
Guest guest
There have been several women who suffered from too much prolactin and some who had the tumor on these vulvar pain lists in the last years. (I have read that 25% of Americans have tiny pituitary tumors. Wouldn't you think they would figger out what causes it a little more aggressively??). As far as I know nobody has for certain determined that Prolactinomas cause vulvar pain Anyway this certainly is a hormonal disruption (for lack of a better word). There have been anecdotal reports and some research on the fact that people with these can shrink?? them with a gluten free diet because they are gluten sensitive (Celiac/Gluten Sensitive)? There has been some writings on the subject saying that it is a cause of the tumor/excessive prolactin. You might research the subject. You also might have a stool test at Enterolab to determine if you are gluten sensitive or have Celiac. If you are you should find out as it is a serious disease and it causes all kinds of problems apparently including prolactinomas, etc. The blood tests in use can only diagnose Celiac and only when it is in the last stages. Enterolab's stool tests are excellent. Gluten really messes up the hormones and even causes ovarian shutdown and infertility (among a lot of other things). I hope you can find some relief. > > Subject: Prolactinoma > To: VulvarDisorders > Date: Saturday, November 15, 2008, 6:27 PM > Hello, > > I have been suffering from vulvodynia for many years and > recently found > out that I have a prolactinoma. > > I would like to find out if someone is suffering from > vulvodynia > because of a prolactinoma or other hormonal problems. > > I look forward to hearing from you. >
Guest guest
Dear Chelle, I've been suffering from vulvodynia for about 6 years. I went to see a doctor because we have had problems falling pregnant. Over several months I had increased prolactin levels and was sent for an MRI, as my doctor suspected a prolactinoma. But they couldn't find anything. My doctor said I have an overproduction of prolactin - for unknown reasons! Whoever has increased prolactin levels also has low estrogen levels, which explains why using estrogen has helped me in the past. At the moment I am not on any medications because I'm trying to fall pregnant. Could you tell me what hormone problems other people have? Or could you put me in touch with them? > > Hi there, > > I hadn't ever heard of a Prolactinoma, so I looked it up. Guest guest
Hello, I had an MRI done a few days ago and they didn't find anything. My doctor says I have an overproduction of prolactin for unknown reasons! Gluten-sensitivity isn't something I have linked to this so far. I'll have to do some research on this. Thanks for the tip. > > > From: lindemayer8 > > Subject: Prolactinoma > > To: VulvarDisorders > > Date: Saturday, November 15, 2008, 6:27 PM > > Hello, > > > > I have been suffering from vulvodynia for many years and > > recently found > > out that I have a prolactinoma. > > > > I would like to find out if someone is suffering from > > vulvodynia > > because of a prolactinoma or other hormonal problems. > > > > I look forward to hearing from you. > > >
