Dear Parent Centers,

The National Parent Technical Assistance Center (NPTAC) and Regional Parent Technical Assistance Centers (RPTACs) are delighted to share with you our new collaborative portal website that was launched in August at the OSEP Leadership Mega Conference: www.parentcenternetwork.org. The idea for the portal was conceptualized by Larry Wexler, OSEP Research to Practice Division Director.

ParentCenterNetwork.org (see attached flyer) provides a unified web presence for the Parent Technical Assistance Centers and an interactive map so users can find the local Parent Center in their state or community. The website features links to research-based information, announcements about upcoming events, and other resources.

The portal also includes an innovative Parent Center Network search function. Users can type in topical queries such as "alternative dispute resolution" or "individualized education programs" and instantly search the websites of all 107 Parent Centers across the country for related content. As the search will bring up resources from across the country, users will need to keep in mind that special education regulations vary by state and some information may be state-specific.
