Guest guest
Since your pain is localized and outside, have you tried any ointments with Lidocaine or one woman I know who finds lidocaine burns too much gets compounded bupivacaine in cream and it helps her. There is a study of women using cotten balls soaked in Lidocaine ever nite for several weeks that reduced their pain. I think sometimes if you can get the pain turned off then it kinda allows your body to reset. Some Drs. also prescribe elavil in a cream or neurontin is now being used in a cream. I know that Atropine cream also has been used. I would contact a compounding pharmacy and see if they reccomend any drs, hopefully gyns, who might order some to try or have them talk to your own GYN to order some. Hard to know if the IUD is involved unless you have it removed and see how you do but other forms of BC can cause trouble too so you may not bebetter off. I think women have more trouble with BCPs due to hormone flux vs an IUD. > > Most of my pain / irritation is on my inner labia. My pain / irritation changes from day to day. Some days I feel almost100% normal, and some days I'm miserable. Does anyone elsejust have pain in the inner labia? Does anyone take a comboof meds like amitryptiline and cymbalta? The last time I had a VV flare I took 75 mgs. of amitryptiline and 30 mgs.of Cymbalta and I got better after about 3 months. Thistime I'm just taking the amitryptiline and I have an IUD.Could the IUD be messing with my hormones and moisture levels?I'm at a loss, and just want to get better. I have a 10 monthold and a 4 year old, and I want to get better for them. The2nd yeast infection of my lifetime brought the VV on this time. Thanks for every post, I check my mail everyday. >

Sorry you have to go through all of this. My pain is all on my inner labia and clitoris. I have LP not LS, but they are so similar. I use lidocaine cream compounded with crisco and it is a 5% solution. It helps me greatly when I am in so much pain that I cannot even walk or sit. Like you it is a day to day thing. I will feel great one moment and then all of a sudden I am in complete agony. Lidocaine and clobetesol seem to work the best for me. I have taking amitryptiline and it didn't seem to do that much for me except make me groggy and gave me constipation. I am trying it again starting at 10mg and adding 5mg daily to see if my body can handle it this time around. I am hoping it will help with the nerve pain and my anxiety over all of this. I also use A&D ointment just to help with the burning and pain at times. Good luck and ask about the lidocaine. It really helps me. I do have some burning after applying it, but then it does do it's work.....numbing the area. >
