Guest guest
I just thought I would pass on I had been put on cymbolta, given a huge big box of samples hoping for the best, as I had told my dr. for a long time, I didn't want anti's as so far I have not suffered the depression part at least that I feel, but the theory with this drug is also used as to lessen pain. But all I have known on these type of pills had and have complained that it was these anti's that put the weight on them. She said cymbalta not is known to be the best one out there, and more likley to not put weight on, and least side effects, as I have had so much trouble finding something that doesn't drop my already lower blood pressure, it didn't work for me. I then went on Effexor which caused me to lose weight as I have no thought of food in mind whats so ever, and at some point have had to force myself to try and get something in, it also seemed to help some, only some, so I had felt pretty good, 4 mo's into it, side effects, palputations, eye sight trouble and some others, I weaned myself off as away from Dr, did one every other day, wanted off quick as I could not stand not being able to adjust my eye sight for anything. I did ok., but went into such a state of pain, and No stopping it with anything I take, I went back on even though pharmacist told me most likely the side effects would come back and I should probably forget about this one to. Well I am on it, about 21/2 wks into it, and am holding my own I think am not sure. I now do not know if it helped or not as I know it takes a good month to really get into the system if it is going to work, but I have felt so poorly so long I can't say, and the eye thing, may be back. No palputations though. Hope the cymbalta works for you as I have had people rave about it I know that I have met taking it. Sharon Teri Wallner wrote: Celeste, Yup, that's the company I'm dealing with - apparently they no longer cover any anti-d's unless you have a psych rider on your policy which is expensive - talking $2,400 a month in premiums expensive. That's what I was told by their sales department. (In Wisconsin anyway - not sure of other states.) That's nuts. The pharmacist and doctor seem to think they are going to lose a lot of business and have a lot of problems because of this " glitch " that they seemed to have found. God, I feel for you going off the Cymbalta cold turkey - from what I understand one should wean off any anti-depressants otherwise you end up feeling like you did. I remember going off Effexor years ago and had to wean down - still had bad effects from it. I'm hoping that switching from Effexor to Cymbalta doesn't cause too many problems. I know they are both SNRI's so maybe that will help. Not looking forward to finding out though. How did the Cymbalta work for you? Teri (central WI) Re: melt down I am going through the same thing with Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance with my Cymbalta. I have been on this medication for almost a year. And had Cigna, my husbands co switched and no they are saying they will not cover. Never gave me an alternative or anything. had to go off the cymbalts cold turkey. It is awful...my body had been jittering for day, don't dare to go anywhere. just feel like crap literally. How can they do that. Ididnt' realize what our doctors really do for us sometimes. My dr has been great. And I am taking Lyrica, just started, but still not feeling any better yet. Cbaker
